Intro

Hainan Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. is jointly funded and established by China National Nuclear Corporation and China Huaneng Group. It will be responsible for the construction, commissioning, operation and safety management of nuclear power projects. Hainan Nuclear Power Project is located in Changjiang County, Hainan Province. The project adopts the CNP 650 standard two-loop PWR nuclear power unit independently developed by China National Nuclear Corporation. It is a key project of China's 'Twelfth Five-Year' plan, and two 650,000-kilowatt PWR nuclear power units will be constructed in the first phase. The project is planned to start construction at the end of 2009 and the first unit is scheduled to be put into commercial operation by the end of 2014.
